A ContACT "Easy Use" CMS (Customer Management System) allows self management of your Website and includes unlimited "normal" pages without a special programming function. It allows you to change text and pictures at will. Call us for a quotation to transfer your website into our "easy use" CMS. The ContACT team will train you by telephone to become as proficient as you need to be. Training is not a one-off affair, it can consist of several lessons at the customer's request.
You have two options:
-
If you are advertising on the GoSeeAustralia site you are able to access the rates table from here. Go to goseeaustralia.com.au and click on "manage" on the menu bar, again use the same username and password to access your details as you use for the CMS system. The GoSeeAustralia team are readily available to guide you through this. Once changed on the GSA site it will automatically change on your website and any other organisation you belong to that ContACT link with.

A Post Office Protocol, version 3 (POP3) account or POP3 Email Account or POP Box is an independent email account based on a standard set of rules. They are typically email boxes that have their own unique username and password. When someone sends email to your POP account (e.g., info@company.com), the mail is saved on our servers. To retrieve POP email messages, a user must provide the correct email address, User ID, and password.
When someone sends email to your POP account (e.g., info@company.com), the mail is saved on our servers. To retrieve POP email messages, a user must provide the correct email address, User ID, and password. Email Forwarding simply forwards email to an existing email account. So you could have email sent to yourname@company.com forwarded to sales@yourcompany.com for example.
An email autoresponder is an automatic reply sent whenever an email is delivered to a particular address. Autoresponders are often used to provide:
- Confirmation that the email was received.
- Standard information such as contact details or price lists.
- Answers to frequently asked questions.
An autoresponder will send a standard response email message (based on text you specify) to anyone who sends an email to a specified email address.
Generally incoming and outgoing mail server names are the same, at contact we use mail.(your domain)eg mail.contact.com.au

- Should be descriptive - tell a story
- Should represent and form an asset to your business
- Keep it memorable - short & sweet
- 20 characters are more than enough
- The name has to be remembered
- Long names do not help
- Be choosey on your extension - i.e., .com.au .net .org
- Do not use words which are hard to spell
Watch out for domain renewal scams that appear from time to time -
They usually offer a 2 year and sometimes 1 year renewal for a domain name that "looks" like your name - eg., www.myholidaypark.com (not .com.au) for only $249.
You may even be offered a free iPod. This is a scam.
To prevent un-necessary payments, know your Hosting Company and know their staff.
To renew your domain name you have two choices:
- Telephone ContACT Internet Solutions on 02-6175 1111 or email to jobs@contact.com.au and request us to renew for you and invoice for payment.
- Go online to http://domains.contact.com.au and renew your domain name yourself. For this you will need your credit card details, also your username and password which can be supplied by ringing ContACT direct. Upon request these will be emailed to you.
- By going online to http://domains.contact.com.au. Then enter the domain name to see if it is available, check the box .com.au then SEARCH button. The result will indicate whether or not the name is available.
- Telephone ContACT Internet Solutions direct on 02-6175 1111 or email to jobs@contact.com.au and ask our staff to search what is available. Our staff can also guide you as to the appropriate domain names that may be suitable for your business.
Owning more than one domain has many uses. You can use the other domain names to fulfill other types of marketing and to attract people from specific markets to your site.
Once linked together they form a strong tool in search engines. It strengthens your own branding identity and prevents others from using a domain name very close to your name.

Google is continuously traversing the web in real time with software programs called crawlers, or " Googlebots " . A crawler visits a page, copies the content and follows the links from that page to the pages linked to it, repeating this process over and over until it has crawled billions of pages on the web.
Next Google processes these pages and creates an index, much like the index in the back of a book. If you think of the web as a massive book, then Google's index is a list of all the words on those pages and where they're located, as well as information about the links from those pages, and so on. The index is parceled into manageable sections and stored across a large network of computers around the world.
-
The Home page of a website is of prime importance. Links and text placed on the Home page are
given a higher value than links in the inside pages
-
Google ranks a page according to the number and quality of links leading to a page.
-
Design is also an important aspect which helps in ranking a website higher
-
Create a useful, information-rich site and write pages that clearly and accurately describe your content
-
Think about the words users would type, to find your pages, and make sure that your site actually includes those words within it
-
Keep the links on a given page to a reasonable number - under 100
Links help google crawlers find your site and can give your site greater visibility in the search results, you can provide inside linking to your website or trade your link with other web owners.
Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote by page A for page B.
Search engines tend to skip over flash objects, they are too complex to crawl through. Google has gained some ability to read flash, but it is still limited. You should keep the flash to a minimum
The aim here is to change the meta-tags and description of individual pages, so that customer web searches will related to your business.
